Surgery Shouldn’t Slow Your Strength

The sooner you can begin your post-surgery rehabilitation and exercise program, the faster you can get back to doing the things you love. Don’t wait until you feel better to start - start now so you feel better!

Our home health care professionals are also experienced personal trainers who are experts in corrective exercise. We will create an exercise program designed to help keep you strong while you heal. We even collaborate with your surgeon or physical therapist to make sure we provide exercise that supports the work you’re doing with them.

And with the support of our own Medical Director, who also has extensive experience with exercise selection, you’ll have an incredible team by your side.

What is the Neubie?

The Neubie is a TENS unit cleared by the FDA for the following uses:

  • Improving or maintaining range of motion

  • Prevention of muscle atrophy

  • Management of chronic pain

  • Management of acute pain after surgery

  • Prevention of venous thrombosis

  • Neuromuscular re-education

  • Improving blood flow

Why should we use it for exercise after surgery?

The Neubie is the perfect companion technology to help you get stronger while recovering from surgery. Management of pain after surgery is usually a top priority, and that’s why we recommend starting a new exercise program as soon after surgery as your surgeon or doctor is comfortable.

By placing electrodes on the muscles during exercise, we can stimulate them and prevent atrophy (muscle wasting). The increased stimulation also brings blood flow to the area, which can speed up healing.

Often after surgery, even though the physical parts of the body have been repaired and healed, the nervous system keeps its “foot on the brakes” on that part of the body. This can result in a decreased range of motion and, when you try to go past that range, you’re often rewarded with pain. The Neubie can help reeducate the nervous system to improve range of motion and allow access to that range permanently, without pain.

All this by performing simple therapeutic exercises at home. It’s what we call “Medical Grade Fitness.”
